Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is the operation of the lower, upper, or both eyelids to provide a more youthful appearance around the eyes and look calmer and more alert. Because puffy eyelids give the person a tired and sleepy appearance.

In the upper eyelid surgery, it should be noted that whether the eyebrow is drooped or not because droopy eyebrow is a cause for puffy upper eyelid. In these cases, droopy eyebrow must be corrected first which may not need eyelid surgery.

The lower eyelid needs more consideration, because lower eyelids may droop again; therefore, removal of the lower eyelid skin is limited. It should also be recognized that whether the cheek is separated from the eyelids (called a valley between the cheek and the eyelid) or not; this requires additional measures.

 Eyelid surgery will improve

  • The excess fat of the upper eyelid which causes puffy eyelids.

  • Sagging of the lower eyelid, under iris whiteness
  •  The excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid
